USA Vacation Property, Holiday Condos, Villas, Homes
America is a popular choice for holiday home ownership due to it having some of the world's most exciting cities, English as its language and the Dollar being at a vey low rate in recent years. The USA has many spectacular landscapes and a fascinating history, due to its humble immigrant roots.
Most holiday home owners feel at home quickly, due to similar food and TV. Americans are generally friendly and outgoing. So if you are looking to sun yourself in California, shop in New York, gamble in Las Vegas or ski in Colorado - now is an excellent time to invest in a USA property.
The climate in the USA is generally temperate. It becomes hotter further south, which makes florida a very popular choice for holiday home buyers. North Eastern and upper Midwest states can plummet below zero in winter. The main international airports are Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Washington, Miami, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Los Angeles. Connecting flights from these major airports go to hundreds of other US cities.
Buying a house in the USA is less hassle and more straightforward than it is to do in the UK. In many states including the ever popular Florida, the majority of purchases can be completed without involving a lawyer (not advised). The whole process from time of offer to completion, can take as little as 2 weeks. It will take no longer than 90 days. Ensure that when you have found your ideal property, the offer of purchase is written up on a real estate contract for the particular US state. Also make sure that it contains all the terms and conditions that must be met before the contract becomes legally binding.
Deposits, from a few thousand dollars will be required. So you will need access to an American bank account or arrangments made to wire over funds. Once your offer is accepted - the contract needs to be signed by the buyer and the seller. It then becomes legally binding to all the clauses. If you then need to back out of the purchase you could lose your deposit or be forced to purchase the home anyway. However the plus side is you cannot be gazumped by the seller.
